Abstract
Professor Emeritus Laurance "Larry" Herold taught geography at the University of Denver for over 35 years. He died at the age of 78 on March 30, 2010. The collection consists of various papers and a few photographs relating to his life and work.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. Laurance "Larry" Carter Herold was born in Kansas City, MO on May 30, 1931. He graduated high school in Colorado Springs, CO and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Colorado. He earned his PhD at the University of Southhampton, England. He began teaching at the University of Denver in 1956 and, after teaching at the University of Wyoming and Southern Colorado State College, he was appointed in 1963 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Denver. Dr. Herold went on to serve for over 35 years, and was appointed Professor Emeritus in 1998. He passed away on March 30, 2010 at the age of 78.
