Biographical / Historical
Dr. Robert C. Amme (1930-2022), worked at the University of Denver in the Department of Physics and Astronomy from 1959 until his retirement in 2000, and continued as a research professor until his death in May of 2022. Starting in 1975, Bob became acting dean of DU’s College of Arts and Sciences, and in 1976, he was appointed dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and director of the Academic Research Center. He was chair of the Department of Physics 1980-1985 and briefly served as acting chair of Engineering in 1983-84. He was a member of the American Nuclear Society, American Association of Physics Teachers, Society of Sigma Xi, and was a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
