Biographical / Historical

Theta Chi is an international fraternity founded on April 10, 1856 at Norwich University in Norwich, Vermont. Since founding, Theta Chi has established 245 collegiate chapters and initiated more than 200,000 members. The Gamma Lambda chapter at University of Denver was founded in 1948, was active until 1980, inactive until 1997 and has been active ever since as of 2022.

Scope and Contents

Collection contains six labeled folders: Buildings (1958-1979), Correspondence (1958-1994), Financials (1973-74), Membership Directory (1973, 1975), Press (1968-1974), and Program for Revitalization (1974). Buildings is the largest folder containing various lease agreements, correspondence about the Theta Chi house and more.

Arrangement

Multiple series arranged in one box. When more materials are accrued from still-active organization, will expand to multiple boxes. Folders in Box 1 are labeled and arranged alphabetically. Contents of folders are arranged chronologically.
