Biographical / Historical

Charles F. Cortese was born in Pueblo, Colorado on August 31, 1940 and died on June 19, 2002 in Denver, Colorado. He graduated with both his Bachelor's of Arts and Master's of Arts from the University of Denver and received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Brown University. Charles F. Cortese served as an Assistant Professor for the University of Denver department of Sociology from 1974 to approximately 1989, the Associate Chairperson of the University of Denver Department of Sociology from 1983 to 1984, and the Dean of the College at the University of Denver from 1984 to 1989. His research scope included Environmental Sociology, Demography and Human Ecology, Social Change, and Community.
