CTL launched with a staff of 2 people including Director Julanna Gilbert and administrative assistant Leslie Pagett. In 2002, CTL added two instructional designers and launched the Excellence in Teaching program. By 2004, the bulk of the CTL’s budget went to grants for curricular development. In 2011, CTL published a new and expanded mission and goals beginning with the statement, “to promote and support a culture at the University of Denver that values and rewards excellence in teaching and learning.” In 2013, the name changed to Office of Teaching and Learning and the office moved into the Anderson Academic Commons.
