Abstract

Lilian Salomon was born in Colorado in 1866, one of Denver's earliest Jewish pioneer families. She grew up in Denver and married James Geoffrey McMurry and had one child, James Taylor. Her father Hyman Zadek Salomon was a charter member of B’nai B’rith Denver lodge no. 171 and part owner of Salomon Bros. Grocers. Collection contains a two volume set of Incidents of Travel in Egypt, Arabia Petraea and the Holy Land by John Lloyd Stephens (1838) with an inscription in the second volume "Lillie Salomon, Denver May 2nd 1885" from Lilie Salomon.
