Biographical / Historical
Harold Beier (1928-2019) was known in the University of Denver community as DU’s biggest hockey fan. The 1947 DU graduate’s fervent support began when the Pioneers’ varsity hockey team debuted in 1949. After his retirement in 1987, he was the archivist for the DU Hockey Alumni Association, an organization he helped to found. In the 1960s he agreed to house hockey players. Beier and his siblings provided support to the program through the Beier Family Endowed Hockey Scholarship.
