David Gross Papers
Abstract
David Gross was born in Austria-Hungary and died at the age of 53 on February 23, 1920. David Gross married Rosa Printz in 1894 in Denver, Colorado. He retired from active business when in his 40s and devoted his time to philanthropic efforts. David Gross was particulary involved with the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS), serving as the first vice-president. As chairman of the house committee he personally chose food at the markets in the early morning, and established a deli at JCRS. He was also on the building committee. The collection contains 1 file folder containing Obituary (1920) and Wedding Invitation (April 15, 1894); (1) framed portrait of David Gross; (1) framed "In Memorium" statement from the patients of JCRS (February 1920); and (1) framed certificate of citizenship (October 26, 1894).
