All Undergraduate Student Association (AUSA) Records
Abstract
The All Undergraduate Student Association (AUSA), previously the All University Student Association, was a student group at the University of Denver functioning as the undergraduate student government from 1965 until an official name change in 2009. Previous names for student government were Student Senate and Interschool Council. AUSA included three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. These records include executive meeting agendas and minutes, senate court records from the judicial branch, bylaws from the legislative branch, information on organizational activities, financial records, and student publications.

Biographical / Historical
The All Undergraduate Student Association (AUSA) represented every undergraduate at the University of Denver through a three-branch student government including executive, legislative and judicial branches. Prior to 1965, when student government added the AUSA judicial court through amendment to its constitution, AUSA was just Student Senate. The name AUSA is also associated with the earliest constitution drafted for student government in the 1940s, though the governing body was then called Interschool Council. Despite only representing and electing undergraduate students, AUSA was the All University Student Association until 1976, when the group name changed to clarify representation. On April 25, 1968, AUSA held a march and sit-in at the registrar’s office to protest graduate students not being allowed on the AUSA ballot. The AUSA name was officially changed to the Undergraduate Student Association (USG) in September 2009. A large part of the group's responsibility was working with all student organizations to determine budget allocations, which was determined by AUSA's Finance Committee. Representatives for AUSA were elected each spring with the responsibility to act as a voice for the undergraduate student body through the legislative process, communication with administration, and understanding of the issues facing the undergraduate population.
