Abstract

Born in Denver, Allen Dupont Breck graduated from the University of Denver in 1936 and served in World War II. He was a professor of history at DU from 1946 to 1996, during which time he was chair of the history department and wrote the official history of the university. He helped found the Rocky Mountain Medieval Renaissance, Western History, and Western Social Science associations. The Allen duPont Breck Papers contain material he collected in writing his history of the University of Denver.
