Val J. McClellan was an economist, business consultant, and author. He was born in Butte, Montana, and was raised in Roosevelt, Utah. The proximity of the White River, Uncompahgre and Uinta Utes form the background of his writing. He studied at the University of California-Berkeley and the University of New Hampshire. He served in the US Air Force in England during World War II.
