This collection contains the first female cheerleading uniform from the University of Denver worn by Ruth McIntosh. It also contains a photocopy of a newspaper article about McIntosh and 2 photographs of her in the uniform.

Biographical / Historical

The cheerleading uniform in this collection was worn by Ruth McIntosh who was a student at the University of Denver from 1938-1942. During her sophomore year in 1939 she became the first female cheerleader at DU.
