Biographical / Historical
Duncan was born in Scotland. He was also in the first graduating class of the Iliff School of Theology after it reopened in 1910. He also received two degrees from Taylor University, a Methodist affiliated college in Indiana. During World War I, David Shaw Duncan served as an instructor of the Student Army Training Corps at DU. Additionally, before serving as chancellor, David Shaw Duncan worked at the University of Denver as a professor of History and Poltical Science as well as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
