Biographical / Historical
The Gabelmans were a Denver military family. Major Charles Gabelman married Cyprianna Turcotte in 1919. They had three children: Charles Jr. "Boots", John, and Cyprienne "Doodles" Gabelman. Cyprianna's mother, Bertha, owned several pieces of real estate around Denver and in Colorado. Mrs. Gabelman was a good friend of Senator Edwin Johnson, and was herself active in Denver politics. Cyprienne Gabelman married Kenneth Whelan, and became an actor and dancer in New York. In 1976 and 1977, she was a faculty member at the University of Denver.

Scope and Contents
This collection includes household account books, tax records, photographs, real estate records, and textiles. Several speeches made by Senator Edwin Johnson were removed and added to his own papers. Also included are mementos from political campaigns, a scrapbook, and theater programs.
