Biographical / Historical

Katherine Detre was born Katherine Woodbury Cane in 1912. She majored in Dance at the University of Wisconsin and went on to teach modern dance and yoga. She taught courses at the YMCA in Connecticut during the 1950s. In 1969, Katherine along with Elaine Rogers and Gloria Winber started the School for Modern Dance in Denver, CO. This studio later changed its name to Three Arts, Inc. Katherine continued teaching yoga, modern dance, and posture courses through the studio and at the YMCA in Denver.
