Abstract

The Center for Multicultural Excellence is the new name of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The name was changed in 2002. This group was formed to work with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to raise awareness and support of diversity, including racial, sexual, gender, and economic diversity. The materials in the collection include administrative documents, event posters, research articles, and internal group documents. The CME contains several smaller diversity groups, including the Black Student Alliance, the Latino Student Alliance, the LGBTQ, and others. Each group works independently but within the structure of the Center. Each group functions to give support and education to their members. In 2006, the CME was the driving force behind the iniation of Inclusive Excellence at DU. The collection is arranged in four series: 1. Articles, published in the mid to late 20th century. 2. Groups 1988-2002. 3. Events, 1991-2002 bulk (1991-2011 inclusive). 4. Administrative Papers 1991-2010.
