This collection contains the personal papers of Mario Iona (1917-2004), a German-born and -educated physics professor who worked for the University of Denver from 1946-1986.

Biographical / Historical
Mario Iona, born in Berlin in 1917, graduated from the University of Vienna with a Ph.D in Physics in 1939. He was a Physics professor at the Universtiy of Denver Department of Physics and Astronomy from 1946 until he retired in 1986. He continued to publish until his death in 2004. From 1942-1985, he was also the manager of the Inter-University High Altitude Labratories (IUHAL) located at Mount Evans and Echo Lake, Colorado.

Scope and Contents
The collection consists of copies of Mario Iona's authored publications in a variety of Physics magazines, copies of his curriculum vitae (CV), and reports from his time as a faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Denver.
