The Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) at the University of Denver (DU) was founded on 18 February 2011. As an organization, the students work to bring awareness to issues and events that impact the Black/African American and DU communities, and to provide support for one another as they progress through their experiences as graduate and professional students at a predominantly white institution. The collection consists of photographs, posters, and other papers created and/or collected by the organization.

Founded on 18 February 2011, the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) at the University of Denver (DU) is a student organization by, for, and about graduate and professional students at DU who identify as Black and/or African American. The organization is run by Black/African American graduate and professional students and supported by the Center for Multicultural Excellence. As an organization, the students work to bring awareness to issues and events that impact the Black/African American and DU communities, and to provide support for one another as they progress through their experiences as graduate and professional students at a predominantly white institution.
