Biographical / Historical

Viki Eagle is of Sicangu Lakota (Sioux) Tribe heritage and is a first generation Japanese-American. She received her MA in Higher Education from the University of Denver (DU) in 2015. Her focus, while at DU, was representing the 21st century Native American from the local community through photographic portraits, in a project titled, "Real Life Indian." Upon graduation, Eagle worked as a high school multimedia teacher at Red Cloud Indian High School, on the Pine Ridge Reservation, specifically focusing on photography

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of photographs, exhibit signs, and other materials related to Viki's Real Life Indian work. Collection of color photographs and one sign related to the "Real Life Indian" portfolio photography project, on display in the Anderson Academic Commons, University of Denver, from November 7, 2014 through April 15, 2015.
