This collection contains the adminstrative papers of the Central City Opera Guild. The Central City Opera Guild was founded in 1974. The collection consists of materials on programs and events such as L'Esprit de Noël and Fashion Shows, board materials, Presidents' notebooks, newsletters, clippings, and scrapbooks.

Biographical / Historical

The Central City Opera Guild was founded in 1974 by Barbara H. Ferguson, Janet Phipps, Gail Gordon, Linda Roberts, Bettry Veit, Judy Nichols, Marjorie Rentz, Mary McGlone, and Celeste Flemming to as a volunteer organization with the aim of aiding the Central City Opera House Association with fundraising, social events, educational and apprentice artists programming, preservation and maintenance of historic properties, and audience development.

Before the founding of the Guild there were two other organizations that helped to fund the CCOHA, Colorado Citizens for Central City founded in 1970 and disbanded in 1974, and the Central City Guild which was founded and disbanded in 1974.
