Leonard F. Bischel Hsinku Poem

Abstract

Dr. Kenneth Kuanling Fan was a poet from Taiwan who invented a new poem format called "Hsin Ku" or "New Classic." A Hsin Ku poem consists of four lines of four words each, with the second and fourth words nearly rhyming. This collection contains a paper fan with a Hsin Ku poem inscribed on the back by Dr. Fan.

Abstract Leonard von Bibra Sutton (1914-2002) was an alumnus of the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver and went so far as serving as Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. Abstract Leonid B. Heifets was born 1926 in what is now Belarus. Dr. Heifets began his medical training at age 16, obtaining an MD, PhD and ScD. He participated with the World Health Organization as a member of Russian medical expeditions to the Congo in 1960 and 1962. Abstract

Leopold H. Guldman was born in Harburg, Bavaria in 1853 and immigrated to the United States in 1870. Guldman opened the successful chain of Golden Eagle clothing stores in Leadville, Cripple Creek and Denver. He was one of Colorado's leading merchants and philanthropists. The collection consists largely of business records including correspondence, ledgers, journals, and financial papers related to the Golden Eagle stores.
