Overview Leon and Ella Sobol came from Minnesota to Denver in the early 1900s. In 1908 Ella Sobol signed a lease with Harris Pellish to use his property at 2715 West Colfax for a theatre until 1910. Pellish opened a movie theatre in 1910. Harry Sobol, Leon and Ella's son, Harry married Sarah Gross. Two of their sons were Bill and Maurice Barnard Sobol. Sophie Miller Peterman was born in 1900 in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Lithuanian immigrants Anna and Robert Lazar Miller, who were pioneers of Denver's Jewish community. In about 1920, Sophie Miller married Joseph (Joe) Peterman, and they had a daughter named Norma. Sophie Peterman died in Denver in 1986. The collection consists of one ivory satin wedding gown worn by Sophie Peterman on her wedding day.

He arrived in New York City in 1882 and graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Overview Star Bakery was founded by East European immigrants Eva and Jacob Boscowitz (Boscoe) in 1907 at 2744 West Colfax Avenue, under the Colfax viaduct.
