Overview In 1899, the Jewish community erected National Jewish Hospital (NJH), the first sanatorium in Denver, Colorado for tuberculosis victims. With the financial assistance of the International Order of B'nai B'rith, the hospital served Jews and gentiles alike and accepted indigent patients free of charge. Overview Leon and Ella Sobol came from Minnesota to Denver in the early 1900s. In 1908 Ella Sobol signed a lease with Harris Pellish to use his property at 2715 West Colfax for a theatre until 1910.
