Overview Samuel and Heloise Bernstein moved from New York before their only child, Leonard, was born in Denver. Samuel worked in retail clothing. Leonard worked for Denver and Rio Grande RR for over 50 years. Most of the documents center around Heloise, Samuel and Leonard. Collection contains marriage announcements and certificates, death certificates, military certificates, postcards, photographs, and scrapbooks related to the Bernstein family from 1893 through 1966.
Overview Shul Baer Milstein arrived in Denver in 1884. He was the impetus behind the Jewish agricultural colony at Cotopaxi, Colorado. Nettie Milstein, daughter of Shul Milstein, married her first cousin Jacob Muhlstein in Central City, Colorado. Overview Henry Schoen immigrated from Hungary in 1890 and worked as a salesman. He married Mildred Block on June 14, 1914 in Denver with Rabbi William S. Freidman performing the ceremony. They had two children, Lewis and Vivian. Mildred was Colorado born to German immigrant parents.
