Abstract Sam Bloom was born in Denver, Colorado in 1911. His parents were Pizer and Ida Strait Bloom. Pizer was born in Poland in 1885 and Ida was born in New York City in 1894. The couple opened Downing Coal and Feed store in Denver, Colorado. Sam Bloom married Lillian Gershowitz in 1937 at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver. Abstract

Ellis and Bessie Ruttman Wedgle were married in Denver in 1914 after a brief courtship.The two arrived in the United States around 1912, Ellis emigrating from Poland and Bessie from Russia. In Denver, Ellis worked as a pawnbroker, and Bessie was a seamstress. They lived in Denver's west-side immigrant community and raised four children there. The collection consists of one item, the wedding dress worn by Bessie Wedgle in 1914.

Abstract Solomon Hirsch and Hannah Levi Hirsch had six sons who immigrated to the United States and changed their last name to Harris. They were born in Fordom, Posen (Poland) and settled in New Jersey. Solomon Harris and his brother Eli went out west and settled in Virginia City, Colorado. The two brothers opened the Harris Bros.
