The Alfred Baltazar Baca papers contain framed certificates, plaques, and awards related to the work and career of University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

Abstract

Alta Merle Ricks (1905-2005) was a benefactress for the Ricks School of Gifted Children.Her generosity supported the Ricks Center building project and an endowment fund. She was a regular visitor to the school and attended many events. This collection contains items collected and created by Ricks, unconnected to the school, including family photographs, personal paintings, and various trophies and awards.

He was a Long time board member for over 50 years and President of The Ex-Patients' Sanatorium for Tuberculosis and Chronic Disease. Since 2004, the Friends of The Dance Archive have honored several individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to dance as "Legends of Dance in Colorado" each year. This collection contains oral histories, plaques inscribed with the names of the honorees, as well as files containing transcripts of oral histories with the honorees, biographical information about the honorees, and audiovisual recordings and highlight reels from the annual awards banquet.

Abstract The Grossman family emigrated to America from the Austro-Hungarian Empire and moved to Denver because of tuberculosis. Abraham Grossman was an active member of the traditional Beth Ha Medrosh Hagodol (BMH) Synagogue and later of the Oheb Zedek Congregation which broke away from BMH in 1911. Abstract East European Jewish immigrant, Adolph Kiesler, became a noted Colorado philanthropist. Born in Rumania in 1880, Kiesler settled in Denver's West Colfax Jewish neighborhood at the turn of the century, when he began as a peddler. He later recalled "I worked for fifteen cents a day at odd jobs, and then I got a job carring coal for seventy-five cents a ton."
