Abstract

One of the few notable golfers to come out of the purely amateur golfing culture that existed in the Rocky Mountain region in the 1920s was Nate Grimes. Born in 1907 in Denver, Nate excelled in golf at the amateur level, winning numerous local, state, and regional tournaments in both match play and open play, but he declined to turn professional.
