HUNGER, 1945
"HUNGER," a drawing by Marie Loewenstein. Marie drew this picture of her daughter Karin Steinberg on a piece of scrap paper with a bit of burnt wood from bomb damage.

Quotation at the bottom says "If shirts are 7 coupons each how many could you buy with 14?" "That all depends if you know the right people!"

Pencil sketch on tracing paper of a man running from a bull in a pasture. Two men on the outside of the fence, one smoking a pipe, are looking on and conversing. Quotation say "One potatoe to a Bottle of whiskey he doesn't make it." Potato is spelled with an "e" on the end.

One Winsor Spiral Sketchbook, size 5 x 8, filled with pencil sketches of people, buildings, landscapes and some still-life’s. Sketch book is dated "1953" on front cover. "15" written in top right corner of front cover; presumably it was priced at 15 cents.

One Winsor Spiral Sketchbook, size 5 x 8, filled with pencil sketches of buildings, landscapes and seascapes. The last page has an itinerary of Maria's travel from July 20-July 31. Sketch book is dated "1954" on front cover; "Maria" and "Summer Canada" is also written on cover. "20" written in top right corner of front cover; presumably it was priced at 20 cents.

One Winsor Spiral Sketchbook, size 5 x 8, filled with pencil sketches of buildings, landscapes and seascapes, one watercolor and a few ink drawings. Several of the sketches have locations in and around Quebec written on them. Sketch book is dated "Summer 1956" on front cover; "Maria Lowenstein" is also written on cover. Stamped "Plankenhorn Stationary Co. Williamsport 2, PA" with "20" written in top right corner of front cover; presumably it was priced at 20 cents.
