Bernstein Family Papers
Samuel and Heloise Bernstein moved from New York before their only child, Leonard, was born in Denver. Samuel worked in retail clothing. Leonard worked for Denver and Rio Grande RR for over 50 years. Most of the documents center around Heloise, Samuel and Leonard. Collection contains marriage announcements and certificates, death certificates, military certificates, postcards, photographs, and scrapbooks related to the Bernstein family from 1893 through 1966.

File contains laminated marriage license and newspaper articles on the marriage of Edith Weil and Isador Bernheim. Edith was the daughter of Nathan and Clara Goldsmith Weil. Isador and Edith were married in Las Vegas on September 8, 1915 and divorced in 1929.

A copy of Dr. Arthur Ernst Bätge and Therese Sophie Agathe Berg's, Maria's parents, marriage certificate from the Estonian vital statistics archive. The copy was produced on September 12, 1933 in Tallin, Estonia and has two 25 cent stamps attached at bottom. The form is filled out by hand in ink. This was one form produced by Maria's to the prove her non-Jewish heritage.
