Container 70: Framed Painting
This object contains the painting "Roots" by Juan Menchaca. This painting is number 383 of 1000, and there is a certificate of limited edition attached to the back of the painting. The painting shows a group of pioneers square dancing next to their covered wagons.
"Despair", 1945
Ink wash painting titled "Despair" of a woman sitting on a short stool in front of a Fanklin stove with the door open and a pot on top. Sitting on the floor is an empty basket. Behind the woman is a window and a shelf with a candle and two canisters. Ink wash is done on an old roll of unused wallpaper as stated by the artist in a 1971 Rocky Mountain News Article. See B333.08.0001.0001.00004.

'Face on the Bar Room Floor'
This folder contains photographs of the face painted on the Teller House bar room floor. Painting was completed by artists Herndon Davis in 1936. The painting is of Herndon's wife Edna Juanita (Cotter) Davis although it was advertised to be based on the poem by Hugh Antoine D'Arcy by the same name (The face on the Bar Room Floor).
