Abstract Margaret Husted of Alexandria, Va. (wife of Walter Husted, the business editor of U.S. News and World Report). After her death in 1980, the Boettcher Foundation purchased the collection and donated it to a Denver area cooking school. When the school closed in 1985, the collection was passed on to the University of Denver. Katie Stapleton (1919-2019) has been a cookbook writer, lecturer, teacher, European food tour leader and radio personality.The collection includes fan mail, correspondence, radio/TV materials, Denver Delicious manuscripts, cook book reviews, information about culinary tours, one set of Who's Who in America 2005, magazines, and audio-visual materials of her TV and radio appearances.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The Penrose Collection Digital Archive consists of highlights from the University Libraries' Penrose Collection, including artists' books, cartoons, cookbooks, and other forms and genres on which the library maintains a collecting focus. These works have been digitized and made available in the Special Collections @ DU digital repository, and are cataloged here and in the library management system.
