Observation books contain astronomical observations made at the Chamberlin Observatory from 1897 through 1925, including Halley's Comet in 1910. Observation notes include Howe's notes as well as other astronomers. The reference material is ''A List of Stars for Observations of Latitude with Approximate Zenith Distances for Chamberlin Observatory,'' complied by Charles Joseph Ling.

Howe's Journal includes copies of letters, drafts of articles, technical notes and clippings of his popular astronomy articles in local newspapers. Found between pages 144-145 (May 1910 observations) are undated astronomical position notes penciled on the back of two class schedules (one undated, the other for 1st Quarter 1909-10) and [March?] 4 [year not given] notes in ink on the back of an [1899?] circular from The Woman's Guild of the University of Denver, which was established in fall...
