Abstract
Leopold Mayer was born in Alsace-Lorraine in 1838 and immigrated to New York in 1849. In 1859, he came to Denver and went into the general merchandise business. He also served on the second Denver City Council. In 1880, the Mayer family went to Saguache, Colorado, where Leopold Mayer became a rancher and later founded a bank and a dry goods store. He served as a state representative while in Saguache. Leopold and his family moved back to Denver in 1893 and he died in 1926. The file contains...
