Overview Handwritten letter in ink to "Dr. C. D. Spivak" from "Mrs A. Volk" with heading, "1 East 113th St, N.Y." dated "Mar. 1st 09" [sic]. The thank you letter is one of gratitude aimed towards JCRS and Dr. Spivak. Mrs. A. Volk is greatful that her brother M. Leon was invited to attend the JCRS Sanatorium. A. Volk states that there exists "a debt" that her and her brother "owe to [Spivak] which no living soul can repay; except by acts of 'Kindness,' and 'Charity;'" [sic]. The letter is signed Mrs A....

Overview Handwritten letter in ink to "Dr. C. D. Spivak 1421 Court place Denver Colo" from H. J. Leon of New York dated "February 27-1909" [sic]. The letter gives thanks to Dr. Spivak and JCRS for accepting M. Leon into the Sanatorium, and hopes M. Leon will soon be healed and able to leave JCRS "a perfectly healty [healthy] man" [sic]. The letter is signed H. J. Leon.

Overview Handwritten note to "Dr. C. D. Spivak...1471 Knox Ct. Denver, Colo" from "S. S. garson" dated "Feb. 24th 109[1909]" [sic]. The letter informs Dr. Spivak that M. "Leon of New York" told Garson "that [Spivak was] to pay [M. Leon's] board commencing with Saturday, Feb. 20th," thus Garson takes "the liberty to send you the bill for 4 days' board he owes me" [sic]. The note is signed S. S. garson.

The receipt only has one row filled out stating, "4 days' board and room @ #[$]5.50 per week #[$]3.15" [sic]. The receipt is not signed but the payment was acknowledged by S. S. Garson.
