Abstract

Interior of the dentist office at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The sanatorium was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.

Dr. John Jacob Finesilver married Sarah Orlinsky in 1928. Finseilver served as an officer of the U.S. Dental Corps from May 1929 to January 1947. He was appointed as Comissioner of the Colorado State Athletic Comission in 1953 by Governor Dan Thornton.

A patient receiving dental care at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). Dental care was also provided free of charge for all patients of the sanatorium. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The sanatorium was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.
