32 Pioneer Students named to Who’s Who in American Colleges. Engineer’s Day Festivities. Patty Baker honored as Miss Denver U for 1955 – she received the honor at the Associated Women Students’ (AWS) banquet. Suzanne Dress named as outstanding junior woman of the year and the newly elected president of AWS on the UPC. Miss Esther Dimchevsky was presented with the Faculty Award at the AWS banquet.

Coeds elect King on October 4, 1955. First student Senate meeting of the year held on October 4, 1955. Frats nominate eight for AWS “Apron King” (Bob Bryant, Ken Curtis, Jack Deeter, Orville Duffy, Sonny Moore, Mike Pappas, Paul Plath and Bob Siegelman). Men’s Dorms elect officers. Glen Buse, DU varsity football star was injured in automobile accident. “Y” slates gala events for membership quest. DU boasts new housemothers.

Housing Policy Changed – 21-year-old Coeds eligible to move in. Outstanding Coeds Announced at Annual AWS Banquet Event – Sally Griffith Klendshoj was named “Miss University of Denver” and Dr. Dorothy Humiston was chosen as the University’s outstanding faculty woman. Two DU’ers Initiated into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society on March 15, 1956. Norma Jean Carpenter receives the Georgia Crowell Cup from Kappa Delta.
