Abstract Portrait of Ben Glass (at left) and H. Leivick (the pen name of Leyṿiḳ Halpern or Leivick Halper), Yiddish poet. Both men were patients at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). Ben Glass was a printer at the JCRS bindery from 1928 to 1978 when it closed. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish working men along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado.
