Abstract This is a small circular, wire-brimmed fuchsia day hat with ribbon trimming the brim and forming an attached bow. White, light blue, medium blue and pink dyed feathers are glued to the front brim. The veil is a large open square weave of pink tulle with flocking dyed pink and is geometrically arranged on the tulle. A navy blue circular plastic ''straw'' hat that was meant to be worn on the back of the crown of the head. Four plaid taffeta bows in blue, navy, red and yellow surround three-quarters of the brim. The inside of the hat has plum colored grosgrain ribbon and black plasticized ''horsehair'' for pinning the hat to the head. The interior label reads: ''Milgrim.''

Abstract

The hat features a circular center with petal shapes going outward. The entire outside of the hat is purple velvet that is wired at the edge and has been manipulated into a shape referred to as ''wired wings''. The inside has light blue taffeta over buckram and a light blue grosgrain ribbon hat band. The interior label reads: ''Kate Ferretti Denver''. From the top view, the hat is meant to resemble a daisy.

Abstract Sam Stoole was born in Denver in 1910 and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Engineering. He worked as an engineer for the State of Colorado for seven years. In the early 1940s, he began commercial construction and founded the Sam Stoole Construction Company. Buildings built by Sam included Denver Public schools, Neusteter's Department store in downtown Denver, and several Holiday Inns. He taught wrestling to underprivileged teenagers at JCC in the 1940s.
