David Spivak, 1914-2007
Haim David Spivak (1893-1932) was the son of Dr. Charles D. Spivak, a founder of the JCRS. David Spivak was an artist who painted portraits and landscapes and was one of three co-founders of the Denver Artists Guild. The file contains information on Haim David Spivak, copies of a bookplate he designed for his father, a catalog of his paintings (1914-1932), and correspondence, aboutf his "Ten Commandments" painting.
Spivak Painting Information and Photographs, 1998
Haim David Spivak painted "The Ten Commandments" as a mural in the BMH synagogue in 1927. There are photographs of the Spivak family and the painting before it was given to the AMC Cancer Research Center. There is also an appraisal of the painting.
