Collection contains records of the Gross College of Medicine while at the University of Denver. The Medical Department of the University of Denver, established in 1881, merged with its competitor, Gross Medical College, to form the Denver and Gross College of Medicine in 1903. It was housed on the University of Denver campus until its transfer to the University of Colorado in 1912 when it terminated its relationship with the University of Denver. Abstract
Dr. Robert Levy (1864-1945) began attending the University of Denver in 1880. Most of the signatures in the autograph album date from when he was a student at the university. He started practicing medicine in Denver in 1884 after training at Bellevue Hospital. He helped found National Jewish Hospital and Gross Medical College.
