The Hemlock Society U.S.A. was founded in 1980 with the goal to make legal voluntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide for terminally ill adults in the United States. The Lois Schafer Papers contain administrative documents, correspondence, handwritten notes, legislation information, newspaper and magazine articles, newsletters, brochures and other publications including scrapbooks from the Society.
