Framed gouache watercolor painting, with pencil sketch visible underneath paint, of two scenes with the top titled "Incomplete Education" and the bottom "The Meeting." The top image is of a lavish interior with a large window, ornate gold wall carvings, green upholstered furniture and one small side table. The bottom image is an office with a large desk, fireplace with candelabras and pictures hanging from a picture rail. "Lowenstein '64" is signed in the bottom right-hand corner.

Abstract Ernst Heinrich Loewenstein [Henry Lowenstein] was born in Berlin, Germany in 1925 to a Jewish father and a non-Jewish mother. To escape Nazi brutality, he was sent on the Kindertransport to England in 1939. His parents, Dr. Max and Maria Loewenstein, and his half-sister, Karin Steinberg, remained in Berlin during World War II. Framed gouache watercolor painting of set with blueish/white Doric columns and heavy red curtains with gold fringe and tassels. On stage left stands a line of Nazi soldiers against a black background while the Von Trapp family stands slightly right of center stage poised to sing. Scene is when the family is performing "Edelweiss" in concert near the end of the play. Framed set panel for "Sound of Music," which was performed at Cheesman Park. Sticker on the reverse side says "Panel 1."
