Abstract Maurice Rose was born in 1899 in Middletown, CT to Rabbi Samuel and Katy Rose. The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1902 when Maurice was three. After graduation from highschool, Maurice Rose enlisted in the United States army when he was 15 and fought under General Pershing. He stayed in the army and attended various military schools. Abstract Contains a print of oil painting of General Rose by Misha Podryski that was painted in 1949. The print is on a painter's canvas attached to a wood frame. The original painting was placed in the lobby of General Rose Memorial Hospital. Sometime in the 1970s it was removed and placed in storage. After 1995, the painting was displayed in the office of the Rose Community Foundation.
