Abstract

A triplicate copy of Max Lowenstein's Declaration of Intention for naturalization. The form is an official U. S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service form filled out with a typewriter and signed By Max Lowenstein and the deputy clerk. The form includes Max's current address, brief physical description, birthplace, where he originally came to in the U. S. and where from, and information on Marie, Karin and Henry. A small photograph of Henry is attached.

Scope and Contents

One Winsor Spiral Sketchbook, size 5 x 8, filled with pencil sketches of buildings, landscapes and seascapes, one watercolor and a few ink drawings. Several of the sketches have locations in and around Quebec written on them. Sketch book is dated "Summer 1956" on front cover; "Maria Lowenstein" is also written on cover. Stamped "Plankenhorn Stationary Co. Williamsport 2, PA" with "20" written in top right corner of front cover; presumably it was priced at 20 cents.

Abstract

Western Union telegram from Henry Lowenstein to his family at 924 Cemetery Street in Williamsport, Pa. Message says "Sailing tomorrow Marine Falcon expect to arrive 20 June Love to all -Henry." Telegram message is pasted on the on the the official Western Union form.
