Ida Libert Uchill was born in 1917 on a farm outside of Denver, Colorado to Paul and Fannie Pepper Libert. She died in 2014. Her family on her paternal side arrived in Denver via the port of Galveston in about 1911. In junior high she was a columnist in the childen's section of the Denver Post. Samuel Ralph Freeman was a lawyer originally from New York. He was assistant to the Colorado Attorney General from 1955-1958, Vice President of the Denver Rio Grande Railroad and later as the assistant to the chancellor at the University of Denver.
