Kaplan Family Religious Objects and Photograph
The Kaplan family came from Memphis, Tennessee to Denver, Colorado. Gerson and his wife Adelle Trauke Kaplan were the parents of Belle N., Dora G., and Sallie Kaplan who were born in Memphis and died in Denver, Colorado. Collection contains a photograph, memorial books and ephemera related to the Kaplan Family from 1880-1981.
Yahrzeit (Remembrance) Lamp, circa 1950
A bronze colored electrical lamp base. Remembrance lamps are designed to keep a Yahrzeit light burning on the day of Yahrzeit (''Time of Year'' in Yiddish). This day observes the anniversary of the death of a parent and other relatives for whom the rites of mourning are carried out. The base is inscribed: ''In Loving Memory''.
