Box 2: Wonderbound Hare Mask, 2013-2014
This box contains the red leather rabbit mask worn by Damien during the beginning days of Wonderbound. The dancers were known as hares and would do pop-up performances and flashmobs in Denver to promote the company. The mask was created by and is signed by Tom Bauwell. It is numbered 8 out of the 16 created. The mask was signed by Damien upon donation.
Box 4: Performance Headdresses
This box contains (3) headdresses or masks worn for UNC performances. The feathered headdress and black/white mask were worn for "Legends of the Maya." The ribbon headdress was worn for "Face of the Goddess." Both pieces were choreographed by Sandra Minton. The headdresses and masks were created by Ruth Savig, a Visual Arts professor at UNC.
Box 14 - Costumes, undated
Box contains costume articles from NCJW Denver section's traveling theater troupe. Items include one [1] clear plastic mask with painted facial features, two [2] black hats (one with glitter), and one [1] straw hat with yarn embellishment - likely used in NCJW productions of "The Wizard of Oz".
Box 16: Memorabilia, Wooden Masks
This box contains two (2) masks obtained from the African Ivory Coast. The longer, more elaborate mask is likely a piece made for tourists in the 1990s. The smaller, rougher mask is of unknown cultural source.
Objects accrued as part of Sharon Greenleaf LaPierre's collection. Processor assumed objects intended for William Wellisch's collection due to origin and materials.
