Overview Printed burial receipt filled in with blue ink for Fannie Berman from the United Hebrew Cemetary Association to JCRS on letterhead that states, "M. Goorman, President, 1824 Larimer St. J. ZEIDENFELT, Secretary. Denver, Colo" dated "1/18/1900.9" [sic]. The receipt reads, "For Deceased Fannie Berman, In Block 96 No. 7, For___Carriages and Hearse, $4.00, For Digging, $3.00, For Coffin Undertaken, $8.50, For Bal Misaskim, $2.50, For Tachrichem, $3.00, For Grave, $15.00, Total, $36.00" [sic]....

Amter, Secretary of the Ladies Shroud Society, in Denver, Colorado informs that Spivak is glad Amter has brought up the matter of the expenses of the burial of many JCRS patients before the Board of Trustees. Spivak informs that he has found $56.01 which represents various amounts found among the effects of patients who have died at the Sanatorium. The letter informs Mrs. Amter that the Sanatorium has collected $56.01 from deceased patients [Fannie Berman included] who were buried by the Ladies Shroud Society; and, that a check for $56.01 is enclosed with the letter. The letter is not signed but Secretary is typed at the bottom.

Berman 620 9-th. st. milwaukee wisc" with two postal use stamps indicating time, date, and location [sic]. The envelope has a "U.S.POSTAGE TWO CENTS" stamp which has been stamped over in black as if the letter was sent [sic].

The letter is entirely written in Yiddish; only the signature "mr. louis Berman" and address "620 9-th St. milwaukee wisc" are in English [sic].
