Scope Note: Public Note: Name vaild for period 1908-1914Bio/Hist: The amusement park at Sloans Lake, Denver Colorado opened June 27, 1881 as Manhattan Beach. The principal building, the Manhattan Beach Club burned to the ground in 1908, and the owners of the Lakeside Amusement Park, a few blocks to the north adjacent to Lake Rhoda, took over the Sloans Lake location and opened a satellite called Luna Park in 1908.
