Overview Alexander Kagan was born in Paris, France in 1906 to Russian parents. At the age of 14, Alexander Kagan began work as a fabric designer and also as a designer of jewelry. His mother Chana (Anna) Kagan, his brother Haim Persah (Paul) and he came to the United States in 1922. He became a citizen in 1930 and was a fabric designer in New York.
